Two babies were born at suburban hospitals one minute into the new year, including one whose mother is a labor and delivery nurse.

Maximus Edward Maise was born at 12:01 a.m. at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, a spokeswoman said.

Maximus, who weighed 8 pounds, is the son of Nick and Megan Maise. Megan Maise works at Good Shepherd as a nurse in the labor and delivery department. The delivering physician was obstetrician Randy Zimmerman.
