CHICAGO, IL - A colored boy who had been threatening suicide was shot by police and critically wounded after attacking an officer with a knife Thursday night in the West Woodlawn neighborhood, police said.
The incident took place about 6:40 p.m. in the 400 block of East Marquette Road and the person shot was hospitalized in critical condition, according to a statement from Police News Affairs. Police did not release the age of the male who was shot, the nature of his injuries, the name of the hospital to which he was taken or whether the officer was injured in the attack.
