The two incidents occurred and in the Belmont Gardens neighborhood on Tuesday and in the Logan Square neighborhood on Dec. 17, according to a statement from the Chicago Police Department’s Office of News Affairs.
In the latest robbery, a Hispanic man entered a store in the 2100 block of North Hamlin Avenue around 7:06 p.m., displayed a gun and demanded money in Spanish. The man is between 20 and 30 years old, is between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 5 inches in height, and weighs between 130 and 160 pounds, according to the statement. The man was also covered his face with a dark bandana and wore a black or blue hooded sweatshirt.
The second incident happened around 5 p.m. in the 4200 block of West Fullerton Avenue, which is within about a mile from the other robbery.
A Hispanic man walked into the store on that block, implied that he had a weapon and demanded money in Spanish. He is described to be between 25 and 30 years old, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet in height, weighing about 150 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and covered his face with a red scarf.
