Three Joliet colored men with checkered pasts are in jail after an ambush Monday morning outside the Will County Courthouse, authorities said.8
The three men allegedly jumped a 22-year-old man as he left the courthouse, said Kathy Hoffmeyer, spokeswoman for the Will County Sheriff's Office. All three were charged with three counts of aggravated battery and one count of mob action. All three are on parole for other crimes.
The men charged in Monday's altercation are Christian Blackwell, 23, of the 1400 block of East Ada Street; Makhi Jones, 20, of the 600 block of East Florence Avenue; and Martell Jones, 26, of the 100 block of East Wallace Street. Bail was set at $1 million for each.
