Police arrested a Milwaukee man for shooting and killing 13-month old, Bill Thao. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on the arrest.
Darmequaye D. Cohill, 21, was charged with first-degree reckless homicide and first-degree recklessly endangering safety, both offenses with a dangerous weapon, in connection with the toddler’s death. Cohill is in the Milwaukee County Jail.According to the complaint, which was obtained by WTMJ (Channel 4) late Friday:Investigators believe Cohill and possibly others mistakenly shot into the house where Bill was visiting relatives while they were gunning for 19-year-old Kwesen L. Sanders.
Bill Thao was killed when gunshots were fired into his home. He was shot in the lower torso while he was standing on a table in the home. Thao is the third child killed last year in Milwaukee. Sierra Guyton, 10-years old, was shot while on the playground. Layla Petersen, 5-years old, was shot and killed while sitting on her grandfather’s lap.
A 19-year old man was convicted in the murder of Sierra Guyton in November. There have been no arrests in the Layla Petersen case.
