Sheriff Tom Dart arrests 14 men in prostitution sting - This as one of his own Cook County Sheriff's officer was arrested for trying to kidnap and rape a street prostitute

Fourteen men were arrested after meeting police officers in an undercover johns sting Tuesday in the west suburbs.

The men answered ads on the on the adult classifieds website Backpage.com to meet with women they thought were prostitutes at a hotel on Mannheim Road, according to a statement from the Cook County Sheriff’s office.

The men were met instead by undercover sheriff’s police officers.

They were each cited for a violation of the Cook County public morals nuisance ordinance and later released, police said.

More than 130 men were arrested by the sheriff’s vice unit in 2014 using Backpage.com, and about 700 people in all have been arrested through investigations using the site since since 2009, police said.
