Flagstaff Officer Tyler Stewart was shot five times Dec. 27 as he interviewed Robert Smith, 28, about a domestic altercation between the man and his girlfriend. The footage shows the two chatting along before Smith pulls out a revolver as 24-year-old Stewart goes to pat down the suspect for possible weapons.

The 14-minute video of the deadly encounter shows how innocuously it began before Smith suddenly pulled the .22-caliber revolver and fired off six shots, four of which hit Stewart in the head.
