About 8:40 a.m., Alfredo Luna was stopped by police for speeding in the 3500 block of South Harlem, according to Riverside police. The vehicle was clocked on radar at 56 mph in a 30 mph zone.
Luna, 62, later told police he didn’t have a driver’s license and, after doing a name check, police learned Luna’s license had been revoked for several prior DUI convictions, a statement from police said.
“It is really mind-boggling that an individual would continue to drive after his license has been revoked and have 21 arrests for driving while his license was suspended or revoked,” Riverside Police Chief Thomas Weitzel said in the statement.
Luna’s 2002 Acura was seized by police, who said his original revocation was based on a 2003 DUI charge. Luna had four prior DUI convictions on his driving record at the time, police said.
Luna, of the 2500 block of North Newland, was charged with felony aggravated driving with a revoked license, aggravated speeding and driving without insurance, police said.
