Hundreds of people are expected to attend a second hearing regarding the possibility of building the Barack Obama Presidential Library on Chicago's South Side.
The first hearing was held Tuesday night at Hyde Park Academy. Hundreds packed into the high school auditorium to voice their opinions on the proposal.
"I'm speaking today in support of using park land to build the Obama Presidential Library," one attendee said.
Wednesday's public hearing is scheduled to begin at noon in the Washington Park Fieldhouse. Both hearings are held by the Chicago Park District.
The main issue comes down to land. The proposal from the University of Illinois at Chicago involves space in the city's North Lawndale neighborhood.
The University of Chicago is pitching two locations on the South Side: a 22-acre location in Washington Park and a 21-acre spot in Jackson Park. Both sites are on park district land.
